Renting

Renting here, with someone in your corner.

Not every move is a purchase. We help renters find a place across the New Orleans metro, get an application in that actually gets read, and plan the step after this one.

Where a renter needs an agent.

Finding the right one

We watch rental inventory across the parishes and send you what fits your budget, commute, and timeline instead of making you refresh a listing site all week.

Reading the lease

Pet terms, lawn care, repair responsibility, renewal notice, and what happens if you have to break it early. Know it before you sign, not after.

Moving in clean

Document the condition of the place on day one, in writing and in photos. It is the single best thing you can do to protect your deposit.

Before you apply

Have this ready in one folder.

Good rentals go in days. The applicant who can send everything the same afternoon usually gets the place.

Photo ID for every adult

Anyone 18 or older who will live there usually has to apply.

Proof of income

Recent pay stubs or an offer letter. Self-employed renters should have tax returns or bank statements ready.

Rental history and references

Past addresses with landlord names and working phone numbers.

Deposit funds available

Plan on first month plus a security deposit, and ask about pet deposits up front.

Renters insurance quote

Most leases here require it, and it costs less than people expect.

Renting now, buying later

A lease can be the year you get ready.

Tell us your timeline and we'll work backward from it: what to fix on your credit, what to save, and when to talk to a lender. No pressure and no cost to start.

Twelve months out

Pull your credit, stop opening new accounts, and start a separate savings account for the closing.

Six months out

Talk to a lender about what you'd qualify for today, and what would change the answer.

Sixty days out

Check your lease renewal and notice dates so a purchase closing doesn't overlap a rent obligation.
